.This idyllic getaway is nestled in the densely forested land of Madhai, along the backwaters of the meandering Denwa River. Built on 10 acres of lush forest cover; our eco-luxury wildlife resort offers stunning views of the Denwa River, the rolling Pachmarhi hills, and the rolling grasslands of Satpura.
Our forested estate is gifted with an undulating landscape, a versatile set of flora and fauna that includes in-house wildlife residents, water bodies, and a robust set of cottages and tree houses with unhindered, expansive views. The core forest reserve of Satpura National Park lies across the Denwa river, and is accessible through a scenic boat ride, followed by a jeep safari that takes one into the depths of the forests.
The Denwa Backwater Escape is a quaint jungle eco-luxury resort that is single-use plastic free. Built-in contemporary safari-style design, the lodge uses local and sustainable materials like stone, baked tiles, and even recycled old furniture, including wooden railway sleepers.
The eight Cottages and two Tree houses are done up in eclectically crafted, leather safari furniture, crisp cotton upholstery, and linen. The walls and the rooms are adorned with local art and crafts, which also include wrought iron Bastar art. The cozy accommodation offers sprawling verandahs with scenic views of the forest cover and the winding Denwa river of Satpura National Park.
The Central building includes a welcome area or reception, dining hall, nature shop, and library along with a luxuriant swimming pool. The building has been designed using vintage iron furniture and handcrafted wooden furniture; the wood for which is recycled.

We are an eco-luxury resort and believe in keeping our carbon footprint minimal, while working with a model of tourism that is sustainable, single-use plastic free and enriches and helps the wilderness and local communities around our property flourish.
We gift our guests refillable steel bottles and the rooms are also equipped with refillable toiletries along with a pantry with refillable tea, coffee, cookies, etc.
We offer an array of regional flavours, as we believe in keeping the essence of regional flavours alive. We run a scratch kitchen where everything is prepared in-house including sauces, bakes, breads etc., thus forgoing packaged or processed food.

Our guests come to Denwa Backwater Escape to disconnect and unplug from technology. Though we have a wi-fi, yet our accommodations do not offer a television or room service. Our intention is to help you take a break from the grind of your daily lives, re-connect with nature and be one with the bountiful wilderness, minus any distractions.
We encourage our guests to dine-in at our indoor and outdoor dining hall, overlooking the Denwa river; to be able to enjoy a relaxing meal.
